ftp1.scientificlinux.org
ftp2.scientificlinux.org
rsync.scientificlinux.org
are all separate servers. But they all get their files from the same
back end file server.
I just ran a double check on all of the servers to make sure they all
came up with the same sha1sum on the 6.0 x86_64 iso files (all of them)
and they all produced the same checksum.
What is much more likely is that somewhere between you and our servers
is something that is doing web caching.

The downloaded sizes did not match what was posted on the website. It
was smaller. I got the exact same file sizes on 3 retry attempts. Spent
a bunch of time trying to figure the problem till I got the mail from
Denis with this new link. Looks like FTP and FTP1 are 2 separate servers
and they are not mirrored. This should be addressed ASAP to avoid
further agony to others.

Are the files exactly the same length? If the one you downloaded first
is longer it might have downloaded with "CRLF" manipulations.
