Yesterday afternoon the core router on our network decided to have a short nap
and stopped routing packets for an hour or so. Layer 2 connectivity was not
affected.

As the DHCP server is on a different VLAN to most of my SL servers, a few of
them were unable to renew their DHCP leases.

I expected the servers to sort themselves out once the router started passing
traffic again, but every server that had a lease expire required manual
intervention. In each case, it seemed like SL had just stopped looking for
leases.

Is this a bug that I've encountered, or is there a setting somewhere that I can
set to make sure that SL does not give up when searching for a DHCP lease?

Thanks,

Adam Bishop
