yeah it was awful, wasn't it? I wonder why people keep trying to catch 
lightning in a bottle twice with a property like that. Speed Racer isn't 
memorable and fun because it was *good*, per se. Rather, it was goofy-looking, 
with characters whose bodies didn't move a lot, but whose mouths did, hilarious 
hyper-fast English actors dubbed over the Japanes dialogue, a catchy them song. 
How do you recreate that and make it seem fresh and exciting to a generation of 
kids raised with access to everything from CGI toons to DVD rentals?
