"Near-parody"?

I can't even *look* at an Anita Blake cover without laughing now, thinking of
where the plotlines have gone.

Not very well. The books were much "bigger" in scope and Henry wasn't
the typical fey vampire.

Plus the way the series ended is one of the most heartbreaking things
I've read in a long time. If Laurell K. Hamilton was half as brave as
Tanya Huff her Anita Blake series wouldn't have degenerated into near
parody.
