C'mon. Give me credit. I said in a prior email that I thought he did some
good movies. I liked him in Dreamgirls, I also liked him in Shrek,
Bowfinger and Holyman. I also liked his comedy work from back in the day.
My problems is mental typecasting more than belief he can do it. I see him
as that guy who plays fat women. My mind is open because I never saw
Keaton as Batman and he used to be my favorite Batman.

Nolan is one of my favorite director /producer, so I think maybe he might be
able to get a career-remaking performance out of Murphy. Perhaps others do
not have this mental typecasting issue with Murphy. In that case it will
not be a problem. IMO Murphy's problem is not talent, but image and
selecting crappy films and cash cow, dial it in, family films. So, I do not
think his problem is talent, but perception. The past tells us that is not
impossible. John Travolta is a good example.

FUNNYMAN EDDIE MURPHY will play The Riddler in the next Batman movie,
The Sun can reveal.

The Beverly Hills Cop star, 47, has been signed up by British director
CHRISTOPHER NOLAN to reprise the role played by JIM CARREY in 1995's
Batman Forever.

The surprise move follows speculation linking Pirates of the Caribbean
star JOHNNY DEPP to the part.

The film, set for a 2010 release, is being developed under the working
title Gotham.

Execs have also signed up rising Transformers star SHIA LABEOUF, 22,
to play Robin.

CHRISTIAN BALE will return as Bruce Wayne, while MICHAEL CAINE will
again play Bruce's assistant Alfred.

I hope to Christ someone at the Sun had one too many pints. This is
beyond bad comedy.
