I do have to say that I'm a little offended with all the second
guessing folks are doing. The best point made is that nobody
raised an eyelash when Bush and Cheney did whatever they wanted in
getting us INTO this mess, but Obama has to go damn near on tour to
explain his SOLUTION. a SOLUTION, now.

This is a man who is grounded, who is THE leader for this
time...and who
has the support of an amazing woman...and family!
And...he knows how to bring his grass-roots support to bear when he
needs to.
And...he knows how to draw strength and support from his United
States when he
needs it. I love that he's going to the towns where he was fully
supported, and who he
knows need the benefits of his package.
Until last night, I had some doubts myself about why education and
a couple of other things
were included in the package. I don't now!

Yes, indeed! My wife and I cheered and laughed when he took the
Republicans to task--twice-- for presiding over years of failed
policy and bloated spending. I was glad to see he's not going to
roll over, and that he showed them that nice ain't the same as
weak. I was watching CNN later, and Ed Rollins and another
conservative "expert" were obviously, vocally irritated at what
they called Obama's partisan tone. This from people who used every
opportunity to denigrate the opposition while they were in power. I
think Obama's a guy from the streets who realizes that some people
are always going to take advantage of you, exploiting your weakness
if you bend over backwards being nice to them, and then crying
"foul!" if you meet their strength with your own. And when you
reach that point, you just have to stand your ground and let them
whine. Hopefully the people will see through it all in time...

since Clinton!
Did you catch the detail(s) on EVERY subject that he had in his
head? Talk about doing your homework!
And I was on the FLOOR when the conference ended. He said
goodnight, turned around, and strode out!

Anybody catch Obama's press conference tonight? Buddy was on:
lecturing in his answers to the press (have you ever heard such
long detailed answers from a Prez?)...pointing the finger back at
the Republicans ("I'm a little sensitive taking criticism from
people who presided over a doubling of the deficit...I inherited
this from eight years' worth of failed policy"). I was struck at
the stern nature of his town, the passionate, almost angry words he
used when pointing out how he's tried to extend an olive branch to
the Republicans, only to have it thrown back at him. It was a
brilliant, natural move, showing the other side he's only going to
be nice so long, and then that street side is coming out! Smooth as
always, Obama's words nonetheless said, "Okay, i tried to be nice,
but i ain't gonna let you punk me!" Black indeed.
And did you catch him continually talking about putting money in
American's "pockets"? Can't remember when I've heard a leader use
that term. Usually they speak of putting the money in people's
wallets, hands, or bank accounts. But "putting money in your
pocket"? That's a phrase I heard used all the time in my
neighborhood. Black indeed...
