I don't have a problem with them creating a new reality for Trek if they stick with the new canon. If they are going to reach over into the old universe to pick up William Shatner--what was the point of abandoning it?
I always like new takes on stories. But I don't want to see the new darker Batman contend with the TV Batman that I grew up with; and I don't William Shatner in this new universe. I wish they would go forward with a new canon and see what they come up with.
