What the conservatives are doing right now is the same thing that happened
in the years leading up to the depression. The similarities are so close
that it is striking.

Big economic boom. The media referring to young people as the "lost
generation." Huge social growth that was offset by the growth of fascism,
communism, and the kkk. (What we have now is ultra conservatism, religious
fascism, and a multitude of racist organizations.)

All we need now is prohibition.  I guess you can call the ban on public
smoking to fill in for that part.

There's probably a longer post buried in what I'm saying but I'm sick and
don't feel like writing it. :)
