But this wasn't Howard's fault or doing. He had a "handshake agreement", and it was decided his salary was too high. In the interview I heard with him, he said he wasn't even invited into a discussion with the studio about salary. They just decided he was costing too much and told his agent he was out. At least, that's what he told NPR.
