Unfortunately, T-Pain has influenced pop music for the last couple of years by making Autotune popular. Autotune software forcibly takes musical notes and pitch corrects them. T-Pain discovered that if you do not set the parameters of the software properly you get a robotic sounding vocoder sound. About 20% of the R&B / Urban music has had this sound in it in the last 2 years. He also hosted a music award show last year.
Hannity was reaching for that soundbite when he asked him to be on his show. T-Pain is the least likely to give an informed answer about anything.
