I’m leaning towards #2. If everything goes according to plan, the 1.0 can 
follow on its heals.

We’ve long been in favor of this project getting a release out. I’d be willing 
to test, assuming it's automated and well documented.

Also will vote on the initial releases, to help the project gain footing.
