SCI_SEARCHNEXT starts searching from the start of the selection and will match at the start of that selection so will continue to hit the same location. I think this is something to do with the incremental scenario mentioned in the documentation although I didn't design SCI_SEARCHNEXT or SCI_SEARCHPREV and prefer to use SCI_SEARCHINTARGET. You could set the start of the selection to the end of selection before calling SCI_SEARCHNEXT.
