Thanks Stewart for your reply. Scintilla seems to have a very
complex issue with focus specially may be on Windows, in the
activex ScintillaVB, it looses focus with every keystroke, Neil
said there may be a "Public" variables referneced in the MDI
Since only the last MDI form opened can receive the Scintilla messages.
 
I am not sure why the VB 6 should make the new instances of
the MDI forms uses the same instances of the activeX. Any ideas
on how to correct the focus issues and also make the MDI child forms
created with new method not share the same variables.
Your editor looks nice but it is class based, I wish you did it activeX easier.

I know this is a little outdated response but I thought you might be interested.  Below are a few links to source I've put together to use scintilla in VB.  In two of the samples it does support MDI and quite a few more features than the control does though it is a little more difficult to use but not very much so.

The first is a generic code editor supporiting multiple languages including a find, replace and goto dialog which your more than welcome to use, and the second one is a simplistic html editor.  They both support code folding, brace matching, call tips, etc...

I know the activeX is not maintained but I am using
it with my modifications so far no problems.
