I think the idea is to use the SCN_MARGINCLICK notification... by using the Scintilla notification mechanism whenever possible, your code is much more portable / less platform-dependent. ;)
I do not know anything specifically about the ScintillaNet packaging of the component, but I do assume that notifications *are* implemented - the Scintilla component would far less useful without them. :)
