Summary: vertical blocks + drawing + ovr mode
Initial Comment:
hey there.
it would be nice for scintilla to have a utility such
as Dos Navigator for selection with vertical blocks.
can anyone help? i am not that good in c++
programming... but that feature would be super. it
would be also nice for the selection of vertical blocks
to be able to insert if ovr is off or to overwrite if
ovr is set on.
an other feature is that if I am in the ovr mode and i
try to go beneath the last line of the file, it would
be nice for scintilla to add automatically lines and
spaces to keep the carret on the same column but on
diffrent rows.
The Scintilla/SciTE do have a "block" select feature - although I do
not know for sure if this is what you are talking about... to see it
in SciTE, just depress an Alt key while selecting with the mouse (or
do Shift-Alt while moving the cursor with the arrow keys).
I notice that Insert vs Overlay mode is ignored when dealing with
blocks - it always behaves as if you are in Insert mode.
As for the caret, there are documented rules for where it ends up
after an insert - but I do not think they ever include a case where it
will be "inside" the inserted text.
