needed to be _somewhere_ in the Lua sources. You do need to hook those
pt_popen etc into the Lua io lib of course.

That's what I thought. I followed the instructions in the header comments of
the popen.c source to hook pt_popen, pt_close, and RunSilent to popen, pclose,
and execute respectively but I always get the following error when I compile in
mingw:
liolib.o(.text+0x244):liolib.c: undefined reference to `pt_pclose'
liolib.o(.text+0x421):liolib.c: undefined reference to `pt_popen'
liolib.o(.text+0xecc):liolib.c: undefined reference to `RunSilent'
It was at this point that I started trying to compile in VC6 as most of the
instructions related to this issue that I found searching through newsgroups
were for building w/ VC6.
