Summary: search and replace speed

Initial Comment:
Is there any way to make search and replace faster?

Example: I have an ASCII file with approx. 60000 lines
(CNC-program with lines like: G01 X100.0 Y100.0
Z100.0). When I do a search and replace operation with
a letter that occurs in pretty much every line once
(e.g. change Z to W), this takes about 30 seconds or
so! If you take Ultra Edit or NCLink (Simple Freeware
NC-Editor) this operation only takes 2 - 4 seconds.

Don't know if this is possible with the current
architecture - but would be greeeeaaaat! :)
