Summary: Eclipse-like occurences marker
Initial Comment:
This is a feature request. I do not know how to
programm it myself.
My name is Dorin Chira, I am from Romania and I am a
beginner in programming. I study informatics applied
in economics.
My e-mail address is:

My yahoo id is:

I learn for now programming and I use SciTE a lot. I
VERY like it [ :D ] and its way of showing the text,
its abilities. I also like that whenever you want you
can switch between monospaced font and normal font
[monospaced when you read code and normal when you
read comments] etc... You know it better.
GOOD WORK, GUYS!
I also have something to ask from you, if I may. It is
a feature that I request.
It would be very usefull a occurence-marker like
Eclipse has. I am a beginner in programming and I
studied for about 3 days Scintilla code... But I got
nowhere.
The option might be switched on or off from a menu and
it should mark all words in code [and strings [and
comentaries] ] with a background color and a
foreground color that should be added in Scintilla's
configuration files [global preferences, should have
an implicit value if cfg file does not exist] (or just
invert the block colors in which the keyword was found
for the highlighted word).
The selection shall happen like this: when the user
holds the mouse over a word for more than x seconds
[extra option added in configuration file, should have
an implicit value in case that cfg file does not exist]
If the user moves the mouse over an other word, and
the mouse stays still for x seconds over that word
[the occurence marker is still enabled in the menu],
the old highlighted word should change its color back
[unhighlight] and the new word should highlight.
It can also extend Eclipse's functionality for
occurences marker and if you hold down [CTRL] while
the mouse is over an other word it shall highlight
that word too, without unhighlighting the other word.
Also, if you hold [CTRL] + [ALT] while the mouse is
over an other word, the word the mouse is over shall
unhighlight.
short and logic explanation:
no modifier down:
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
over word 'abc'
=> all words like 'abc' in the
active document should get highlighted
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
outside any word but in active document's region
=> all words in the active
document should get unhighlighted
[CTRL] down:
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
over word 'abc' which is not highlighted
=> all words like 'abc' in the
active document get highlighted as well
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
over word 'abc' which is highlighted
=> nothing happens
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
outside any word but in active document's region
=> nothing happens
[CTRL]+[ALT] down:
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
over word 'abc' which is not highlighted
=> nothing happens
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
over word 'abc' which is highlighted
=> all words like 'abc' in the
active document get unhighlighted
mouse lays x seconds / miliseconds
outside any word but in active document's region
=> nothing happens
if lock highlight is checked then nothing should
happen on the above events.
menu should be like this:
Options
Highlighter
[x] Enabled
-----------------
[x] Lock highlight
[x] Highlight comments
[x] Highlight strings
or like this:
Options
Highlighter
[x] Enabled
-----------------
[x] Lock highlight
[x] Highlight everything
Or however it is best.
Thank you very much.
I would be glad to recieve a feedback in the next few
days so that I know that this mail got where it was
supposed to.
