Ops, i just saw that the selection problem occurs with a normal edit too. When
i had first tested that, i didn't use an MDI app, and the problem didn't occur.
Using an MDI app for test, like my real app is, the problem occurs with a
normal edit too. More: it occurs on Win98 too, while with Scintilla it doesn't
(it does only on Win2000 and XP).

Sorry for having bothered with this, and thanks for your assistance !

Actually i'm 99.99% sure the window containing Scintilla is a
dialog, i'll make that 100% sure. However i made a simple EZGUI
test app which uses a standard edit control instead of Scintilla,
and on Win2000 the selection doesn't occur; it must be noted that
on Win2000 i'm seeing the behavior (and on Win98 i'm not seeing it)
*using my real app*; i didn't make a bare-bones test app with
Scintilla yet; i'm going to do so and i'll report the results of
this test.

Well, they definitely do :) . Furthermore i saw right now that on
WinXP the selection occurs just like on Win2000. But on Win98 it
doesn't at all.

It's also ascertained that the container (neither EZGUI nor my app)
doesn't explicitly do anything different based on Windows version.
IMO it's very likely that some role is being played by how the same
messages are handled by different Windows versions.
