To be really useful I would then like to be able to select text in the editor window then hit a hotkey to run that text in the interpretor.
The interpreter is receiving data through its standard input stream from a pipe that SciTE sends data into when the Enter key is pressed. The pipe is not exposed to scripts although adding a scripting method to write to the pipe would be feasible. The interactiveness of the output pane is limited and you will see better functionality from a language-specific application.
