I knew that when pasting old addresses without verifying them, I was
calling for trouble... :-) Internet is a so moving target...

Seems to be frozen too, note this project has several branches, some of
them listed on the given page.
"Your" version of HexEdit seems interesting, but I will stick with mine,
since I have only occasional needs.
Note there are lots of similar programs, just explore a software
directory like nonags.com to see some of them.
