The Director interface under Unix remains a bit klunky. I think for my next project I'll review the code and see if we can work around the inflexibilities without breaking backward compatibility with ScitePM, etc.
If there is a better communications technique that is more similar to the Windows version of the Director interface then it is probably worth a backwards incompatible change.
