Hi,

Good news, I have a partially implemented plugin for pcsc-lite that uses
libusb to detect USB smartcard readers when inserted. In fact it searches
the Info.plist which will be provided with USB drivers for information so
everything is automatic. I wrote a quick XML parser to parse Core
Foundation bundles which are used on OS X - so you can distribute 1
package for both Linux, Solaris, and OS X (once these new Sun boxes with
USB come available)

If you already have an OS X driver you will only need to place a library
in your /reader.bundle/Contents/Linux directory of your driver. USB
scanning should
be working soon and I'll keep you up to date with the drivers.

Best Regards,
Dave
