"The Heights of Cassino" seems to be consistently in Dmaj. See The Session.org for abc, sheetmusic and a fascinating discussion of the WWII battle. The postings, rather new, may have come out of this discussion. Except for a note or two, the Session version is, for example, identical to the setting in Ceol na Fidhle -- Highland tunes for the Fiddle, Volume Three, page 23.
