I would imagine that you will find a wealth of info on the IBM websites, as
IBM is quite amazingly pro-Linux at the moment. Also, I gave my friend a
copy of DemoLinux, which you can buy from Linux123 off the web, which is
Linux on a CD - it runs a complete copy of Linux with doing stuff to your
hdd. Not really designed for a laptop, but it should give you a fully
working version that you can use to discover if your existing hardware
works ok.
