with cable modems -- I have a Surfboard SB3100 from Telewest that connects
to a network card. If it can use a USB bus then it should be able to talk to
the network card..

I dont use a network card, just modem to machine. For some reason i cannot
get an ethernet card to work under windows so I am just using USB. Last
thing I heard Linux was not too fond of USB connections, did that change
with the 2.4 kernal?

*loads* of distro ISOs - in English!)
What is your downlaod rate? I did a speed test thingy, and it said
connection rate 689K/b, downlaod 80Kb/s. Would that sound right?
