Surely someone must talk about VNC. I have yet to make a meeting, but
perhaps I can make a trip down there from Aberdeen to talk about VNC. Very
nice. A must if, like me, your network has Macs, Windows, and Linux.
Also, may I suggest a subtle name change for the meeting? How about "Show
us your tool"? Sounds much more suggestive.

Anyone going to take up Kev's offer and get their tools out for him?
Rgds,

PS Sorry I didn't make the install day - I had an UPS unit blow up and it
very kindly took a server and the air con unit with it - praise the lord for
backup tapes!

Subject: [scottish] Proposal for SLUG meetings
Hi everyone,
I'm proposing a new slot for our monthly meetings...
"Meet My Tool"
A short (preferably no more than 15 minutes, averaging around 7-10 minutes
if you can last that long) talk about an obscure/overlooked tool that you
_use_ on your Linux box.
Here's some suggestions from a quick brainstorm:
rsync (I've claimed this one)
ssh
wget
find
grep
tar
There's some interesting (and little-known) tools on everybody's box, so
let's get 'em out for the benefit of our fellow sluggers.
Kevin
