I have changed my email address - who do I inform?
I have got my Linux machine running almost perfectly now. I have two
queries - the first will be easy (I think) whereas the second will probably
get a few peoples brain hurting - its made mine hurt a fair bit!!
1 - I have the new nVidia drivers installed on my machine and if anybody is
thinking on upgrading - I thoroughly recommend it, they are blisteringly
quick. Anyway, I found a patch for Unreal Tournament so I could use the
Windows CD and install it for Linux - It runs fantastically. Anyway, I got
the Quake 3 Demo running and thought there would be a patch to use the
Windows CD but I was wrong. I tried to install the 3.27h patch on top of a
Windows Installation. All the drivers (or most) work 100%, with the
exclusion of one - uii386.so Does somebody have a copy of this file to
email to me - or does anyone know about a patch so i dont need to buy
another ful price version
2 - I have windows on my machine - I know. Anyway, the modem I use is a
winmodem, therefore getting it to work under Linux is near impossible. I
do, however, have a second machine which also has a winmodem. If I run
windows on both machines, I can share one internet connection between the
two and access over the LAN. If I run Linux on one machine and Windows on
the other (on the internet via its modem), then is there a way to network
the computers together so that I can access the net through the other
windows machine - By the way, I dont know how to setup any form of
networking in Linux, I am a bit of a beginner.
