Yeah, I've tried that
For the IDE Settings, there are four 
options for both primary and 
secondary 
1. Standard (thats what its 
set to) 
2.Fast PIO 
3.Multiword DMA 
4.Ultra DMA/33 (somthing 
allong that lines)

I've tried all the settings, some one suggested something about a rescue
disk and building another kernel, but I have not a clue how about either
of these things (I'm still a newbie :-))
