No experience with the 3Com stuff. I have an old ZoomAir card (2Mb/s)
and a Lucent Orinoco card (11Mb/s) which talk to each other in ad hoc
mode.

The Orinoco card is in an ISA adaptor on a machine running 2.4.9
and the kernel orinoco driver Just Works(TM).

The ZoomAir card is in a laptop running 2.2.18 (or so) using a driver
from http://www.linux-wlan.com. That was a little more fiddly to get
running, but not too bad. The 2Mb/s cards only work on 2.2 kernels at
the moment (I'm trying to port the drivers over to 2.4, but it's not a
high priority). Once recognised, you just use them like any other
ethernet interface. The 2 and 11Mb/s cards talk to each other quite
happily.

Dunno if that is at all useful to you.

I'd like to know that as well - I got my cards in the USA when there was
a *big* difference in US/UK prices.

Cheers,
Martin
