Hello,
I don't remember if I've posted to this lug list b4 but hello if I
didnt :-)
I Have a Evesham Micros Voyager 6000 Laptop. It has been back to MiTAC (
the people that Evesham buy laptops off to resell) more times than I've
had hot dinners. Each time they have replaced the laptops HD the last
one did not caused major problems with every os. Nothing would install!
They have recently replaced it with a slower & smaller drive. Windows
98 (as supplied with the computer) is running slower than normal and so
I am contemplating changing OS. I am just wondering if there would be
any problems with running Linux (I was given a few Linux CD's the other
day) on the computer. Its a PIII 500 with 128mb of ram. 6.4GB of HD. I
would however need to keep windows on the machine because I have a
_shudder_ WindowsCE handheld computer and I need to use a few programs
like avantgo and Outlook to synchronise with the WinCE device.
I currently use ICQ & MSN and I am wondering if it would be possible to
still be able to use these in linux.( I currently use a proxy server on
one of my other machines @ home)
Also I would like to know if there is any Graphical C(++) compilers for
linux. And If not is it easy to compile programs using a command line?
Thanks In Advance
Welby
