Hi all

I'm fairly new to Linux and BackUps but hopefully you will be able to help
me out here.

I have SuSE 7.2 on a Dell Server supported with a SonySDT-9000DDS3 BackUp
drive. I know diddly about backups other than they are an essential part
of computing generally. I've had a look at kbackup which comes as an RPM
with SuSE built, and it might be me, it does not like nmy backup drive.
I've also CPIO which though I've not tried, thought it better to seek out
some advice first.

I would like to schedule both full and incremental backups of my server.
Currently I back up directories using tar cvf /dev/st0 /etc and so on but
it is only something I do manually.

I will be coming along to my first meeting In glagow on the 29th so I
don't mind if you want to leave a reply till then.

Look forward to seeing you then.

Thanks
Martin
