Subject: [scottish] Simple FTP question

I'm working on a web application which will allow people to select and
download pictures from a photo library.

What should the file permissions be set to so that you can download files
from the ftp directory of a Linux (Mandrake 8.1) box via a web browser?

On the site I'm working on they're set to 644, which lets you download
directly with ftp, but not by clicking on a ftp://mysite/demo.jpg type link
in a web page.

Thanks in advance,
Tom
