Hi there, here's the mail I promised I'd sent round;
Just wondering if anybody else is interested in starting another computer club akin to SLUG (which is wonderful by the way, and I don't want to subtract from that) but just dealing with computers/coding/operating systems/hardware etc in general? Basically I've been recruiting from newsgroups/irc and the web so far and have maybe got 15 or so names (from the central Glasgow area) - I'm looking for anybody else that might be interested, to get in touch and I'll add them to the list I have. Then in a week or so when I have enough people interested I'll send a mail around and we can discuss where and when we'd all like to meet up. This evening was my first time at SLUG and it was great to meet you all. It's always excellent to meet people that are interested in the same things and who you can actually talk to about related issues. If anybody feels (like me) that 1 night a month just isn't enough to get drunk and talk about computery stuff then please let me know and I'll add you to the list. Neil McKillop. P.S. Robert, I was there for your instant-messager talk - I used to think I was the C King but after looking at somebody's net application source recently I thought, huh? So as soon as I relearn the lang and catch up on socket programming I'm gonna start patching! :-) Downloading the software now.. -------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.lug.org.uk http://www.linuxportal.co.uk http://www.linuxjob.co.uk http://www.linuxshop.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------
