I tell you - it is the most stable mp3 player I have seen for linux (apart
from amp - command line mp3 player) - Media Player for KDE 2.1 is crap,
freeamp has it's database thing and generally will not like multiple
playlist windows open - however, I have not tried this for over a year so
the newer version might be better. I couldn't get mpeg123 to compile, and
a lot of gui wrap arounds use this.

Well, this would be playing music just fine, and then - no music. I would
have to quit xmms, rmmod the sound driver and then modprobe it again. I
put it down to flaky hardware (supposed to be a Yamaha DX 97 or something
similar) but uses the i810_audio module. Now with 2.4.10 it stays up for
as long as I need it to.
