/me points to a SPARCstation 4 for 36 quid which i'll be getting next week
... ebay is a goldmine for cheap kit, it really is - you just need to be
confident in yourself that you won't get ripped off - stick to people with
high positive and recent feedback and you should be fine. The deals on
non-Intel kit are incredible - OK, there's the usual pile of SGIs and Sun
Ultras, but things like SPARCstations and HP kit are abound, and at decent
prices. The retro (or vintage) computing section is fun if you're like me
and own 4 Spectrums :)

In general the worst thing to worry about it actually getting your kit in
one piece - I got a Compaq V700 monitor shipped from a seller in the states
and it was gubbed by the time USPS + UKPO/Consignia got it here. Luckily
the seller refunded me fully (which was nice), so no great loss on this end
anyway :)
