i tried putting apollo's IP but the result was the same. i can ping by host
and IP with no problems at all. I had a look in /var/log/messages and it
says ...

rpc.mountd: refused mount request from apollo for /www (/): no export entry

which confusses me as /etc/exports contains
/www 192.168.0.100 (rw, no_root_squash)

Is the (/) in the message log significant?

Any further help is greatly appreciated

Cheers

mike
