I've seen Dell PowerVaults mentioned a few times recently: http://www.dell.com/us/en/esg/topics/segtopic_storage_scsi_main.htm I've no experience of them myself though. Our servers have space for 6 internal disks hanging off the RAID SCSI controller, which is currently enough. The only storage cabinets I've used are Sparc StorageArrays. They're nice too, though I've no idea if they talk Fibre Channel or something custom (in which case, finding something to talk to them if you're using PC kit is going to be a problem). > Unfortunately the network this is going onto runs at 10Mb Any reason why you can't upgrade at least the important bits (between the disks and the servers) to 100/1000MB? Amanda (and I'm sure other backup solutions) can backup to a holding area before dumping to tape. > also know that I can get NAS (e.g. Intelliraid) which can have a tape drive > installed - but then what about disaster recovery? Buy two of them, of course. :) -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.mathie.cx/~graeme/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.lug.org.uk http://www.linuxportal.co.uk http://www.linuxjob.co.uk http://www.linuxshop.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------
