Which features? Why not? > For example we are soon hoping to launch an interactive > help section. This uses features that Windows only offers Does anyone know what features are being referred to or anything that would prohibit interactive help on a browser on Linux (or any other non-MS system)? >The site however is in its infancy at present and we are hoping to >develop it > in future to provide this service to all platforms. I am sorry for any > disappointment this may cause and if you wish to be taken from the online > service I will process this for you. I'd still like to see what the T&C are. If they are offering a discount for entering meter readings online then there surely has to be a quite detailed contract governing the situation. Does it place any requirements on the user which limit the system being used to access the website? If not then I'd demand the discount and point out that any difficulties are not caused by you as you entered into the agreement in good faith. >From the replies it seems that you are not going to get anywhere on the technical arguments as their minds are made up. However, if you can stir up a little infighting between the departments involved (presumably IT and billing) then (1) you may get them to change or clarify their policies and (2) you get some small measure of satisfaction by causing them some aggro. The only alternative is to go elsewhere. I had the same crap a few years ago with the Royal Bank's online service and I ended up moving my business accounts, current account, mortgage and a couple of insurance policies elsewhere. I now get a much better deal on them all and get online access to any of them. I understand that they subsequently revamped the whole service and I can only hope it was because I was not alone and they realised the error of their ways. Ironically I can now use IE on Win32 since I have VMware but that's another story...
