Oooh, if this is a cypress device it is reprogrammable- they support code
download through vendor command A0 if I remember correctly.  I use them a
lot at work for development.  Consist of a smart SIE USB engine combined
with gpio, gpif, slave fifos and an 8051.  Could do some interesting things
with it.....
