IIRC when we started Scout was using Sun's version of API classes
so I added clean AL implementations to our specs sub-project. As we
got stuck in implementing them, Dims (?) copied them into Scout I
think to avoid a dependency on Geronimo. Since them we have been
using the Scout ones.
IMO there should only be one place where this type of thing gets
defined: this is a classic example of why a single Apache-wide repo
of API classes would be useful.

Until then I would suggest dropping the ones from Geronimo and
using those from Scout.
