Hello scrapyd users. This post is to provide a short update on the state of the scrapy daemon and to announce the bugfix release of scrapyd-1.1.1.
After a period of low activity scrapyd is getting on track to catch up with the latest developments in scrapy. However before we make a release with new features we are doing a bugfix release — scrapyd-1.1.1. The main fixes/updates in this release are preventing creating broken installations by defining maximum dependencies' versions, fixing a bug that disables the feed exporter and adding some missing documentation. You can see more details in the release notes http://scrapyd.readthedocs.io/en/1.1/news.html For any problems encountered in the new release or for feedback from testing the python3 port, don't hesitate to open a ticket in github or reply to this post directly. For the next release we are planning to include support for python3, support for newer versions of scrapy and several trivial new features without any major redesign. We'll also deprecate/drop functionality that has only been a backwards compatibility burden like py2.6 support. You can see the current progress in github. https://github.com/scrapy/scrapyd If you are willing to try it we'll be glad to hear any feedback, especially for the python3 branch. If you need help to test it feel welcome to ask in this mailing list or in the appropriate github ticket (https://github.com/scrapy/scrapyd/pull/179) We appreciate the help of all the people who contribute to today's release and to the upcoming one either by direct code contributions or useful feedback. /Digenis, for the scrapyd project -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "scrapy-users" group.
