Hi Bert, Great to have you aboard! You mention not finding a list - that's because it hasn't really existed until now. You should be able to join the list from the Scratch launchpad page <https://launchpad.net/%7Escratch> now. In case it isn't obvious, we're fairly new to launchpad / Ubuntu development process. ;) I'm glad you've brought up Squeak-vm issues. Right now the Scratch Debian package bundles its own version of the VM instead of using the one from the Ubuntu repositories. We actually tried tweeking the package to use the VM from the repositories (1.3.9.8-3ubuntu), but there were a few serious graphics problems that cropped up (sprite images in the sprite area were semi transparent). It didn't appear as though the version of the Squeak-vm in the Ubuntu repositories was being actively maintained, so we just use our bundled one that works. In case it is helpful, here is the version info associated with the one we're now using: 3.10-4 #1 Tue Feb 17 15:08:23 WIT 2009 gcc 4.3.2 Squeak3.10beta of 22 July 2007 [latest update: #7159] Linux melati 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Fri Oct 24 06:42:44 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux We would like to use a VM from the Ubuntu repository because that seems like a better way to organize things. In addition, we imagine there would also be a 64 bit version, which would make it easy for us to support 64 bit platforms. (That's not high on the wish list, but it would be nice.) One of the features that would be nice to have in the VM would be a way to pass it an image / icon to use in the window. Currently there is no icon associated with the one we use, so the top left corner of the Scratch window has a default application icon (see attached image) instead of a little Scratch cat head. It'd be great if we could pass the VM an icon at the command line and have it use that. I imagine this would be nice for EToys as well? Thanks for joining the team! Amos p.s.
