Miriam Ruiz is working on the packaging and has a working test version. I think once it is accepted by Debian (hopefully very soon!), it can get into Ubuntu quite easily, so hopefully it won't be necessary to have a ppa. One way to help would be to follow the Debian bug, and report new issues with the test package there. Thanks, and Scratch On!
