I've decided to get involved in GPE development for the Nokia N800, and the first step seems to be to install sctatchbox on my Debian Lenny system.
In particular, I'd want a scratchbos that's compatible with the Nokia development stuff. Now, Debian provides scratchbox2., which seems to be version 1.99.0.24-1. I have been advised to get the scratchbox provided by Nokia. Its INSTALL.txt refers me to either (1) using their installer script (but I use aptitude instead of apt-get on my system for better dependency tracking, and it also messes around with my sources.list file. It may just put things in /scratchbox, which is safely outside the space the package manager manages, but it messes with other stuff) or (2) doing it manually, in which case they refer me to the instructions in http://scratchbox.org/documentation/user/scratchbox-1.0/html/installdoc.html, whose section 2.2.1 tells me to Add this line to the /etc/apt/sources.list file: deb http://scratchbox.org/debian ./ and then go through the update and install routine. Using aptitude for the update, I'm informed that: http://scratchbox.org ./ Packages [ERROR] 404 Not FOund although earlier it has no problems with http://scratchbos.org ./ Release.gpg [IGNORED] http://scratchbox.org ./ Translation-en_CA [IGNORED] http://scratchbox ??? (The last line was covered by an immovable dialog box, so I didn't get to see the whole message.) Has something happened since that document was written, and is a different deb line now appropriate? Or should I go back to Nokia's script and toggle aptitude's manual/automatic flag by hand? Or is scratchbox2 now the way to go? -- hendrik _______________________________________________ Scratchbox-users mailing list Scratchbox-users@lists.scratchbox.org http://lists.scratchbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/scratchbox-users
