Details:
With output monitoring, I can leave "finch" running in a window and get
notification when messages arrive. But if I'm hacking at full speed, flipping
screens, it's easy to miss the message (it comes in *just* as I flip screens).
I've added %E to the hardstatus string, which expands to a string 0-9+ of
window numbers ("+" if any window > 9 is included) which have had output
notifications, but the window has not been the current window yet.
So I can now add "%?Msgs<%E>%?" to my hardstatus string, and now my status bar
shows there's output to see. And keeps showing it until I flip over to that
window.
Attached is my initial patch. I'm living with this proposed feature and
patch, and will update if/when I come across any further issues.
