Apologies, the version of ubuntu I am actually running is Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS
(lsb_release -a), I forgot I was inside an ssh session. However I tested this
locally and it is the same.
So, at least ubuntu 12.04 as well as 13.10 have the same inconsistency in the
man page.
