Yeah, I suspect failed upgrade or some unstable packages, I use gentoo and it
works fine here.
But still to be sure, can you also provide:
Output of 'env | grep TERM' command, outside and inside of screen.
What USE/CFLAGS do you have (make.conf)?
What terminal emulator do you use?
Have you tried with empty config?
Have you tried downgrading/rebuilding?
