Summary: screen info describes erroneous shell command (set term=mytermtype) Group: GNU Screen Submitter: sebastiancarlos Submitted: Mon 31 Jul 2023 04:18:57 PM UTC Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Release: None Discussion Lock: Any Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Work Required: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 31 Jul 2023 04:18:57 PM UTC By: Sebastian Carlos <sebastiancarlos> Hello, The issue is in node "2 Getting Started", which says: > Before you begin to use `screen' you'll need to make sure you have > correctly selected your terminal type, just as you would for any other > termcap/terminfo program. (You can do this by using `tset', `qterm', > or just `set term=mytermtype', for example.) If this is referring to the value usually found in $TERM, then maybe "set term=mytermtype" should be replaced with "export TERM=mytermtype" Or maybe this is a typographical issue, and the expected text was "or just set `TERM=mytermtype'".
