Unfortunately no answer for a ten years...
In fact, 6.5.30 was the last release of IRIX and in 2014 it was already out of
support (released 2006).
And screen 4.2.1 is definitely out of support... now.
Sorry for no reply. Please try new version of screen on any new Free Software
OS.
